About Our Instructors
Tanya Jablon
Tanya Jablon is the owner and instructor at Safety First Swim School, a company dedicated to teaching infants and children water safety techniques. Tanya began her career as a Survival Swimming Instructor after her daughter had a near drowning accident in their backyard pool. Like many other parents, she was watching her daughter and only took her eye off her for a "few seconds" only to find that her baby was under water unable to breathe. It was at that moment she decided that her children would get the survival skills they needed and that she would dedicate her career to helping other parents achieve the peace of mind that only comes from knowing that your child has the skills to save themselves.
Tanya is a graduate of the YMCA Safe Start Program in Orlando, Florida. Tanya personally instructed hundreds of children, teaching them swimming and water survival techniques. Tanya went through an intense certification process including hands on in the pool and in-depth studies in theory, operant conditioning, sensori-motor learning. Tanya's experience includes the instruction of infants, toddlers, school age children, and children with special needs. Tanya's experience also includes the Walt Disney World College Program, and years of experience as a Walt Disney World Guest Relations Cast member.
Tanya Jablon is a member of the The National Drowning Prevention Alliance (NDPA), holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Communicative Disorders and Science from the University of Central Florida. Tanya is certified with Child/Infant CPR, Adult, Child/Infant AED and is certified in Water Safety.
Leah Riker
This will be Leah's fifth year with Safety First Swim School. Leah was born and raised in Windermere, Florida. She grew up on a lake and going to the beach. She understands the importance of taking survival swim lessons, after she witnessed her 1 year old brother save himself after falling in the lake with no adults around. Leah swam competitively in high school at The First Academy. She has had a love for helping children every since she can remember.
Leah is currently studying to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Business from the University of Florida. When Leah is not in the pool teaching lessons or studying for school you can find her at the beach snorkeling, paddle boarding, on the boat fishing, or babysitting for family and friends.
Kaylee Rushing
This will be Kaylee's third year with Safety First Swim School. Kaylee was born and raised in Florida. She has always had a love for the water. Kaylee believes that every child should be enrolled in swim lessons She is certified with Child/Infant CPR, Adult, Child/Infant AED, Lifeguarding, and Water Safety.
As a Freshman in High School, Kaylee began coaching cheer leading. Kaylee worked with both special needs kids and older girls who went all the way to Nationals.
When Kaylee is not teaching swim lessons she’s most likely playing tug a war with her dog,xspending quality time with her husband, or decorating her house.
HannahJoy Fowler
This will be HannahJoy's fourth year with Safety First Swim School and now she will be relocating to Melbourne full-time. Swimming has always been part of her life, whether it was trying to keep up with her older siblings in the pool, watching her mom teach lessons, or swimming competitively in high school. HannahJoy excelled as a manager at Safety First Swim and is excited to continue her career in Melbourne. To book lessons, click on the link below:
